The images on site were all shot by myself at various stages of my life. I began taking pictures seriously around the mid eighties and I generally use 35mm cameras and medium format 120. I use Mamiya C330, Olympus OM1/2, Canon G9 and Olympus 400e and Nikon F5 a mixture of digital and film. Along with my photography I also love an adventure, my work is also a record of my life, the two go hand in hand, SLRs are usually the way to go, Im basically too lazy to carry large format cameras up mountains, medium format is my limit!

The idea behind the website is to exhibit my photographs to "the world", and give people an opportunity to purchase unique high quality prints. I will continue to add new images, as I have a back catalogue spanning more years than I care to remember! My home town is Lancaster in the North West of England. I have a daughter who has been known to accompany me on treks through remote areas.

The passion behind my work is to hopefully bring out an emotion from within the onlooker allowing themselves to feel a personal attachment towards their chosen image. To hopefully nurture in that moment a sense of belonging to nature as opposed to the detachment often felt in our modern urban lives. Landscapes are composed of mystery, space and time and a beauty which can never be fully realised. The landscape photograph takes on the form of a framed single jigsaw piece of an infinite view.

My photography has developed along with a desire for adventure. Hopefully the photographs reflect a part of who I am, I believe art is an inner journey, and the landscape is a catalyst for creativity.

News

Apart from the sale of my pictures, over the past few years I have had various articles published in regional magazines. I have various projects on the go that I hope to get published over the coming months. In 2012 I hope to have an exhibition of my work somewhere in the northwest of England. Please drop me a line to discuss any of the photographs, your own work, possible link-ups. I would really like to do some collaborative work with poets. I have an idea for incorporating people/figures into wild landscapes if that sounds of interest. Use the email link to contact me. Thank you for visiting the site.
